The Coils All Summer Photo/Video Challenge

Yearly summer initiative expands to honor both locs and loose natural coils through two community-focused photo and video contests
We've seen the Locs All Summer Challenge become something our community truly anticipates each year. Coils All Summer was the obvious next move."”— Charmaine JamesCORAL SPRINGS, FL, UNITED STATES, July 18, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Locsanity, the plant-based, self-manufactured hair and body care label created for all types of coily hair, revealed today the enlargement of its signature yearly summer hair event with the comeback of the Locs All Summer Photo/Video Challenge and the launch of the Coils All Summer Photo/Video Challenge. Together, these two community-oriented competitions offer separate areas for individuals with locs and those embracing loose, natural coils to honor their hair, share their narratives, and compete for rewards.
Celebrating its third year, the Locs All Summer Challenge has developed into a eagerly awaited annual custom within the loc community. Last season's contest drew over 400 photo and video submissions from participants across the United States commemorating their loc journeys. Capitalizing on that energy, Locsanity is unveiling the Coils All Summer Challenge, a fresh companion contest designed specifically for people wearing loose, natural coily hair, including those who style their coils in protective looks.
"We've watched the Locs All Summer Challenge grow into something our community genuinely looks forward to each year," said Charmaine James, Founder and CEO of Locsanity. "Coils All Summer was the natural next step. Not everyone in our community wears locs, and we wanted a space that celebrates the full range of coily hair textures and the styles that protect and nurture them."
Collectively, the two contests mirror Locsanity's wider objective of forging inclusive spaces where every person with coily hair can feel recognized, celebrated, and motivated.
Previous Year's Locs All Summer Winners
Last year's Locs All Summer Challenge generated an overwhelming wave of community involvement, with three winners claiming Locsanity e-gift card prizes out of hundreds of entrants:
● 1st Place: Stefany Reynolds, $500 Locsanity e-gift card
● 2nd Place: Roshida Gigger, $250 Locsanity e-gift card
● 3rd Place: Jamesetta Johnson, $100 Locsanity e-gift card
Fresh for This Year: Team Green vs. Team Yellow
New for 2026, both contests introduce a playful Team Green vs. Team Yellow rivalry. Participants will decide whether to represent Team Green (Growth) or Team Yellow (Happiness) and are urged to sport their team's designated color in their submission. This extra feature turns each contest into a lively community festivity, prompting participants to showcase both their personal flair and the principles they wish to embody.
