The Cold Storage Manufacturer Unveils -86ºC Storage Options

We’re proud to offer freezers that provide the proper storage conditions for high value, life-saving materials including DNA/RNA materials, biological samples, vaccines, and antibiotics.”— Jeff Grattan
Accucold, a top supplier of specialized medical and life science equipment, has announced the addition of the Dual Shield upright ultra low temperature freezer series to its Performance lineup. These units are specifically engineered for preserving heat-sensitive materials commonly used in academic settings, laboratories, pharmaceutical and biotech research, hospitals, and pharmacies.
Offered in 18.7 cu.ft. (530L) and 27.5 cu.ft. (780L) capacities, these freezers are built to hold a steady temperature of -86ºC. Dual Shield models come with two redundant compressors that function independently for ongoing safeguarding. Should one compressor fail, the other takes over, keeping the unit at -80ºC. VIP vacuum insulation plus insulated inner doors aid in faster temperature recovery following door openings.
Extra features provide elevated security without hindering daily operations. A 10” high-resolution touchscreen continuously displays both current interior and ambient temperatures. Staff can adjust temperature settings, review operational records and data curves, and manage inventory via controls accessible through password, facial recognition, fingerprint, or NFC cards (provided). Data can also be transferred using the USB port. Every Dual Shield freezer includes multiple access ports to accommodate additional monitoring devices as required.
“Ultra low temperature storage requires true reliability,” said Jeff Grattan, Vice President of Accucold Sales. “Our Dual Shield models have been carefully engineered for performance, efficiency, and user convenience. From the intuitive touchscreen controls to the dual voltage operation system, we’re proud to offer freezers that provide the proper storage conditions for high value, life-saving materials including DNA/RNA materials, biological samples, vaccines, and antibiotics.”
For greater facility advantages, Accucold’s ultra low freezers run at under 54 dB to avoid disrupting workflow. Full-sized models are ENERGY STAR certified, and all versions use eco-friendly hydrocarbon refrigerants. These units work with standard 120V or 220V outlets. Both NEMA 5-15P and NEMA 6-15P power cords are supplied so facilities can adapt as needed. Accucold also produces compatible freezer racks at its New Jersey fabrication plant.
Alongside the Dual Shield series, Accucold manufactures -86ºC chest freezers and smaller upright configurations. All Accucold products are sold through a broad network of healthcare and medical equipment dealers and distributors across the USA and Canada. These units include an extended warranty covering 12 years on compressors and 5 years on parts and labor, with preventive maintenance plans available for extra upkeep.
