Allied Power Group Completes Viking Turbine Service Acquisition

APG Expands Turbine Support Offerings with Viking Turbine Services Deal Merger brings added technical know-how, engineering proficiency, and service capabilities.

“Their outage planning, project management and technical oversight complements APG’s capabilities, allowing us to support customers from pre- outage planning through execution & service return.”— Jim MugfordHOUSTON, TX, UNITED STATES, October 6, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Allied Power Group (APG), a worldwide frontrunner in gas turbine repair, components, and on-site services, has officially announced its purchase of Viking Turbine Services, an engineering firm specializing in gas and steam turbines based in North Carolina. This merger broadens APG’s technical depth and reach across complementary turbine systems, boosting its capacity to serve clients throughout the entire turbine maintenance cycle.

“Over the past 17 years, Viking has built a reputation with utility and independent power producer clients by dispatching seasoned, OEM-trained engineers to the field at critical moments. Their expertise in outage coordination, project oversight, and technical direction aligns well with APG’s strengths, enabling us to assist customers from the initial planning phase of an outage all the way through execution and restoration of service. We are thrilled to bring Tim, Pete, and the whole Viking crew into the APG family,” stated Jim Mugford, Chief Executive Officer of Allied Power Group.

Established in 2009 and based in Hubert, NC, Viking Turbine Services delivers on-site technical support for gas and steam turbines to utility and independent power producer clients throughout the United States, aiding in the preparation and execution of their outage schedules.

This merger also opens up substantial possibilities for APG to reach a broader client base while maintaining its status as an independent and impartial entity. Viking has assembled a team of skilled technical consultants with backgrounds in OEM service.

“Since 2009, our mission has been straightforward: place customer-focused engineers with genuine OEM and end-user experience in the field and assist our clients in carrying out successful outages,”

remarked Tim Midgette and Pete Jensen, Co-Owners of Viking Turbine Services.

“Becoming part of APG provides our team with access to additional engineering, repair, and parts capabilities while permitting us to continue our core work in the field. We share the same dedication to safety, technical quality, and customer satisfaction, and we are enthusiastic about the prospects this brings for our staff and the clients who have relied on Viking for many years.”
