Olmsted Medical Center (OMC) and Enara Health have revealed a new partnership aimed at increasing availability of physician-led obesity treatment for residents of Rochester, Minnesota. This initiative, branded as Enara at Olmsted Medical Center, introduces a virtual, tailored care pathway that works alongside OMC’s WHOLEyou program, thereby broadening the spectrum of weight-management services throughout southeastern Minnesota.
The WHOLEyou Shared Medical Appointment format—organized group sessions that blend clinical knowledge, dietary advice, and group encouragement—underscores Olmsted Medical Center’s longstanding dedication to recognizing obesity as a chronic illness. Through this alliance, that dedication is further strengthened by adding a virtual, one-on-one option for individuals who prefer solitary sessions or encounter obstacles to attending in person.
Across its nationwide network of partners, Enara Health has established one of the most impressive success metrics in outpatient obesity treatment, leveraging a virtual, individualized clinical framework. Collectively, WHOLEyou and Enara at Olmsted Medical Center create a genuine care spectrum: patients can select either program based on personal preference and medical suitability, all within the Olmsted Medical Center system. Clinicians at every one of the 25 Olmsted Medical Center sites are able to directly refer patients into the Enara program.
From the very beginning, each participant in the program is assigned a dedicated team—comprising obesity medicine physicians, exercise physiologists, dietary experts, and behavioral health counselors—all collaborating from a unified treatment plan. The Enara application ensures this team stays accessible between appointments. Plans are developed initially, with medication introduced only when the clinical situation warrants it.
The service is covered under most major insurance plans accepted at Olmsted Medical Center—such as UnitedHealthcare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Health Partners, Medica, Aetna, and Medicare—meaning many patients can obtain this specialized treatment through their standard benefits.
