Northwest Collision Center Opens Expanded Customer Lounge in St. Pete

ST. PETERSBURG, FL, July 2026 – A newly enlarged customer lounge is now complete at Northwest Collision Center’s Tyrone Boulevard facility. The additional square footage provides a dedicated area for drivers to wait while their vehicles undergo repairs. The lounge is finished and ready for customer use.
This project follows the company’s earlier expansion of its St. Petersburg site from 17,000 to 42,000 square feet. That build-out was geared toward enabling quicker turnaround times and more sophisticated repair techniques. The new lounge brings that extra capacity over to the customer experience side.
Since 1959, Northwest Collision Center has been a family-owned and operated business, making it the oldest collision repair shop in the city. The facility holds I-CAR Gold Class certification, a credential achieved by roughly 10% of collision centers nationwide. It is also factory approved by Mazda and Lexus, accredited by the Better Business Bureau, and backed by more than 680 five-star Google reviews.
On a daily basis, the team performs auto body and collision repair in St. Petersburg for all makes and models. Offered services include paintless dent repair for light damage, frame straightening, refinishing, and full restoration work, along with Tesla and EV repair.

A Message From the Owner
“We expanded the shop floor, and the lounge was the other half of that job. People are trusting us with their vehicle, and the least we can do is give them a better place to sit while they’re here,” said Greg Descent, Owner of Northwest Collision Center.
