This facility marks Smith’s seventh in North America and twentieth globally, further enlarging the company's global footprint and capacity to deliver customized support to clients in that region.
With this new location, Smith is establishing a foothold in a state rapidly emerging as a frontrunner in the semiconductor supply chain. Florida recently entered into an agreement with Taiwan that will support the expansion of the state’s semiconductor manufacturing and supply chain logistics. This comes after its commitment to invest more than USD $1 billion in local, state, and federal funds to further Florida’s growth in the semiconductor market.
To head the Tampa office, Smith has appointed Paul Chilelli as General Manager. Paul joined Smith in 2012 as an International Account Representative. He subsequently assumed various roles supporting Smith’s purchase-price variance (PPV) program before being promoted to his most recent role of Global Account Manager in 2023. His extensive tenure at the company and deep sector expertise will be critical in building his team, cultivating new customer relationships throughout Florida, and advancing business opportunities in the region.
