MedicareVideoGuide.com creator Rodney Powell, who hosts the “Medicare Video Guy” show, has been named Texas’ #1 Top Local Agent on Medicare Agents Hub for the second straight year.

Medicare choices reach beyond just health coverage. They touch retirement savings and how families care for loved ones. I’d rather people get that message from a trusted source before a plan shift arrives as an unexpected bill.”— Rodney POWELL, your "Medicare Wingman"HOUSTON, TX, UNITED STATES, September 14, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — As of 2026, 55 percent of those eligible for Medicare—35.2 million out of 64.2 million individuals holding both Part A and Part B—are in a Medicare Advantage plan, per a June 2026 Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF) analysis updated on July 1, 2026. Since plan benefits, service areas, premiums, and Part D coverage can shift annually, a local check before the Annual Election Period remains essential in Texas.

This year, Powell is focusing his efforts on Texas seniors, with particular attention to Medicare Supplement markets across the Texas Triangle: Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, San Antonio, and Austin. Medicare Agents Hub has placed him at No. 1 Local Agent in Texas for 2026.

His “Medicare Video Guy” channel, found at YouTube.com/@MedicareVideoGuy, offers short videos covering Medicare Supplements, Medicare Advantage, Part D, enrollment windows, premiums, and provider networks.

He has also kept in touch with professionals who work with people near retirement age. That included appearances this year at the SouthWest Benefits Association Conference in Oklahoma City, AICPA ENGAGE in Las Vegas, WOODARD Scaling New Heights in Orlando, The Church Network conference in West Palm Beach, and MedicareCon in Birmingham, Alabama—an event produced by the industry-leading BROCK team. Powell served as an Ambassador for Medicare Agents Hub at MedicareCon.

His community involvement has continued with chamber and local organizations in The Woodlands, Tomball, Cypress, and Katy. That work centers on referral ties with HR and employee-benefits staff, CPAs, financial planners, elder-law and estate-planning attorneys, real-estate professionals, church staff, and senior-group leaders.

“Medicare decisions often impact far more than just health coverage,” Powell stated. “They can influence retirement finances and how families make caregiving choices. I’d prefer people hear that from someone they already trust, before a plan change arrives as a bill.”

Powell is gearing up for an active Medicare Annual Election Period, running Oct. 15 through Dec. 7, when beneficiaries can review Medicare Advantage and Part D options for the upcoming year. He encourages people to carefully read their Annual Notice of Change and verify whether their plan remains available in their area, whether preferred doctors stay in network, how dental and over-the-counter benefits function, what the annual maximum out-of-pocket is on a low- or zero-premium Advantage plan, and whether their medications remain on the formulary at a reasonable cost.

For those shopping for Medicare Supplement plans, he points out that an introductory premium shouldn’t be the only consideration—carrier rate history and long-term pricing matter more than the first-year figure. Unless a guaranteed-issue right applies, a company can reject an application or raise the price.

With the Annual Election Period roughly a month away, Powell is directing Texas families to free educational videos and a no-cost, no-obligation plan review. For additional details or to request a review, visit MedicareVideoGuide.com or YouTube.com/@MedicareVideoGuy.
