ONTARIO, CA, UNITED STATES, September 3, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — ONT Field, the home stadium of the Ontario Tower Buzzers—the Single-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers—has been awarded the 2026 BaseballParks.com Ballpark of the Year, honoring the facility as one of the top fan experiences across Minor League Baseball.
Global design firm Populous, in collaboration with the City of Ontario, Diamond Baseball Holdings, and the Ontario Tower Buzzers, designed ONT Field. The venue earned the honor for its “impeccable execution” of a distinct aviation theme and the City of Ontario’s dedication to delivering a “best in class” professional baseball experience.
“ONT Field is the realization of a vision that could only happen in Ontario,” said Allan Benevides, General Manager of the Ontario Tower Buzzers. “The ballpark’s commitment to intentionality and authentic storytelling in every facet of our venue has created a true home for fans of the sport in this community.”
From the very start, ONT Field was conceived as a fully immersive fan experience. The Tower Buzzers’ aviation-themed brand comes alive through engaging architecture, dynamic storytelling, and family-friendly entertainment spread throughout the ballpark.
ONT Field takes advantage of its location near Ontario International Airport by offering thematic experiences across the venue. These include a center-field food hall modeled after a baggage-claim carousel and a left-field concourse designed as an interactive runway that, together with a vintage airplane, illuminates after a Tower Buzzers home run.
"ONT Field's recognition as Ballpark of the Year is a reflection of the vision that drove the design from day one," said Jason Michael Ford, Principal at Populous. "This honor reflects the creativity, collaboration and dedication that went into every aspect of the ballpark, and we are proud to see that work recognized with this award."
Additional branding across ONT Field highlights the club’s relationship with the Los Angeles Dodgers. The left-field scoreboard mirrors the iconic hexagonal boards at Dodger Stadium, and a Fernando Valenzuela mural along with other tributes to Dodgers history appear throughout the ballpark, linking the franchise’s past with the next generation of players and fans.
“ONT Field is the result of an incredible shared vision for Southern California’s professional baseball scene,” said Pat Battle and Peter Freund, Executive Chairman and CEO of Diamond Baseball Holdings, respectively. “It began with the City of Ontario’s commitment to creating a destination for the community, a vision executed to perfection through Populous’ expertise, and brought to life through the passion that the Tower Buzzers’ front office staff delivered day in and day out all season long. From a sold-out Opening Day to a season filled with record crowds and unforgettable moments, it’s wonderful to see the team’s debut culminate with an award recognizing the hard work and dedication behind creating something that feels authentically Ontario.”
The award further underscores the City of Ontario’s long-range vision for ONT Field as a driver of economic activity, tourism, and civic pride. Built to function both as a Minor League ballpark and a year-round community gathering spot, the venue enhances Ontario’s status as a regional sports and entertainment hub while providing a new public space for residents across the Inland Empire.
“We are very grateful for the honor of Ballpark of the Year,” said Scott Ochoa, City Manager of the City of Ontario. “ONT Field is such a source of pride for the community and City Council that receiving this award is a recognition shared by all of Ontario. The ballpark was truly a labor of love and it is a living legacy and testament to our residents and businesses as well as the power of baseball to bring communities together.”
This marks the 13th venue designed by Populous to earn Ballpark of the Year. BaseballParks.com’s annual Ballpark of the Year award is chosen by a panel of ballpark experts and acknowledges excellence in sports venue design, operation, and fan experience.
