Year-over-year hiring climbed 67% as businesses expanded their sales and finance operations in Latin America, with Brazil emerging as the primary destination for new placements.
Companies used to come to us with one hard-to-fill role. Now they come with a growth plan.”— Hayden Cohen, CEO of Hire With Near
Hire With Near, a recruitment firm that assists U.S. enterprises in sourcing remote talent throughout Latin America across all sectors and functions, has released its midyear hiring figures. Placements during the first half of 2026 were 31% higher than the preceding six-month period and 67% above the same stretch a year earlier. The most pronounced shift behind that increase: American companies are increasingly filling positions in revenue generation and financial operations within Latin America.
Sales development representative (SDR) remained the top-placed role and extended its advantage, with SDR placements surging more than 70% from the previous half. Account executives and outbound engagement specialists made their first appearances among the ten most-placed roles, meaning that sales positions now account for four of those ten roles.
Finance saw a nearly equal jump. Bookkeeper rose from 12th to 5th in the ranking—the largest climb on the list—while accountant moved up to second place overall.
Seniority levels are also rising. The proportion of placements at the manager tier roughly doubled over six months, as companies began putting Latin American professionals in leadership of teams rather than solely adding individual contributors.
The geographic landscape is shifting as well. Brazil became the number-one country for placements for the first time, representing more than one out of every five hires, surpassing Colombia and Argentina. Mexico grew by over 80%, placements in El Salvador more than doubled, and the Dominican Republic cracked the top ten for the first time.
The speed of hiring is also accelerating. The median new hire began work within ten days of selection, down from twelve days in the prior half, and nearly four out of ten started in under a week.
"What we're seeing is companies coming back role after role," said Hayden Cohen, CEO of Hire With Near. "A company hires a salesperson, then another, then an accountant to support what the sales team is bringing in. For a business with 30 or 40 employees, that's a real growth strategy, and it's why the fastest-growing segment of our placements is companies of 26 to 50 people."
More than half of all placements during the period went to businesses with 50 or fewer employees, with the quickest growth occurring among firms with 26 to 50 people.
