When a law firm’s charity golf tournament can generate six figures for local nonprofits over half a decade, it’s worth noting—especially when those funds go directly to fighting hunger and poverty in Metro Detroit. The Kemp Klein Foundation just proved that point again.

The Kemp Klein Foundation’s 2026 Charity Golf Classic raised $30,000 for Capuchin Soup Kitchen, bringing the event’s five-year total to $167,500.

TROY, MI, UNITED STATES, October 19, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — The Kemp Klein Foundation’s 5th Annual Charity Golf Classic raised $30,000 for Capuchin Soup Kitchen, continuing the Foundation’s tradition of bringing together clients, colleagues and community partners in support of organizations making a meaningful difference throughout Metro Detroit.

Held August 31, 2026, at Fieldstone Golf Club in Auburn Hills, the event featured a day of golf, competitions, a silent auction and dinner, with proceeds benefiting the individuals and families served by Capuchin Soup Kitchen.

Since 1929, Capuchin Soup Kitchen has served individuals and families throughout Detroit through programs addressing hunger, poverty, recovery and community development. Its work includes daily meal service, the Capuchin Services Center, Earthworks Urban Farm, On the Rise Bakery & Café and Refettorio Detroit, a community dining initiative centered on hospitality, dignity and reducing food waste. Members of Kemp Klein have also volunteered with Capuchin in support of its mission and programs.

The Kemp Klein Foundation extends its sincere appreciation to the event sponsors, silent auction and participant appreciation bag donors, volunteers and everyone who contributed time, resources and financial support to help make this year’s Charity Golf Classic an incredible success. Their generosity helped make the event possible and supported the important work of Capuchin Soup Kitchen and the people it serves.

Over its first four years, the Kemp Klein Charity Golf Classic raised a combined $137,500 for charitable organizations including Forgotten Harvest, SAY Detroit! and First Tee – Greater Detroit. With this year’s $30,000 contribution to Capuchin Soup Kitchen, the event has now raised $167,500 over five years for organizations serving individuals and families throughout the region.

The Kemp Klein Foundation was established in 1994 to support charitable organizations and promote volunteerism throughout the firm and community. Since its inception, the Foundation has contributed more than $1,000,000 to hundreds of worthwhile causes.

Why it matters: In an era when corporate philanthropy often feels impersonal, Kemp Klein’s sustained commitment—over $1 million donated since 1994—shows how a single firm can create lasting, tangible impact. The $167,500 raised through five years of golf outings isn’t just a feel-good number; it represents real meals served, recovery programs funded, and community gardens cultivated across Detroit, proving that local partnerships between businesses and nonprofits can move the needle on poverty.
