The American College of Healthcare Sciences, a Portland-based institution with more than four decades of experience in online education, has entered a strategic partnership with education benefits platform Tuition.io that could dramatically expand access to integrative health programs for working professionals across the United States.

The partnership connects ACHS programs to more than 2.5 million employees across over 300 employers who use Tuition.io’s education assistance platform, creating a pipeline for workers to pursue accredited credentials in fields ranging from holistic nutrition to wellness coaching while their employers help cover the costs.

“This partnership helps create additional opportunities for working professionals to pursue accredited online education in a way that fits their lives while supporting long-term goals,” said Ilana Rose Frigaard, Chief Operating Officer at ACHS.

Founded in 1978, ACHS holds accreditation from the Distance Education Accrediting Commission and operates as a certified B Corporation, a designation that signals the institution meets verified standards for social and environmental performance. The college offers programs in herbal medicine, aromatherapy, holistic nutrition, wellness coaching, and integrative health, along with micro-credentials and continuing education options.

The timing of the partnership aligns with mounting evidence that employees increasingly view wellness benefits as essential rather than supplementary. According to the Global Wellness Institute’s Workplace Wellbeing Initiative, 88 percent of employees now value their wellbeing at work as much as their salary, a finding that has prompted employers to rethink their benefits packages.

For Tuition.io, the partnership represents an expansion into integrative health education. Jeni Burckart, Vice President at Tuition.io, noted that ACHS is the platform’s first partner specializing in holistic and integrative health education, filling a gap in the types of programs available to employees through employer-sponsored education benefits.

ACHS President Tracey Abell emphasized that education in these fields creates lasting impact not only for individuals but for the organizations and communities they serve, positioning the partnership as mutually beneficial for employers seeking to enhance workforce development and employees pursuing meaningful career advancement.

The arrangement reflects a broader trend in higher education, where institutions are increasingly partnering with corporate benefits platforms to reach working adults who might not otherwise pursue additional credentials.
