Only three months after enlarging his Southern California service area by three times, Vallejo is broadening once more, incorporating North San Diego County—including Poway and Del Mar—to satisfy increasing demand for moving and junk removal services.

Like numerous career service members, Vallejo collected more than just memories over two decades in the United States Marine Corps. While getting ready to retire during the early phase of COVID-19, he found himself deeply involved in home improvement projects and clearing out clutter.
"When a friend asked what I wanted to do next, I joked that maybe I should get into junk removal," Vallejo said. "I had plenty of it to deal with at home."
What began as an offhand remark quickly evolved into a transformative opportunity.
That acquaintance happened to be attending graduate school at the University of Tampa and had been analyzing the financial structure of College HUNKS Hauling Junk & Moving in class.
"He told me, 'Speaking of junk removal, you should check this company out. Their books look solid,'" Vallejo said.
Four years ago, Vallejo put money into the franchise and launched a College HUNKS Hauling Junk & Moving site in Murrieta.
The company's growth has accelerated rapidly. In March, Vallejo extended service from Temecula into Encinitas and San Jacinto, tripling his reach across Southern California and adding roughly a dozen new jobs. The latest expansion into North San Diego County, including Poway and Del Mar, builds on that momentum as the company continues investing in its team despite ongoing economic headwinds.
Attracted to the brand's heavy emphasis on leadership—a principle shaped by his Marine Corps career—he is passionate about guiding others and supporting their development. His aim is for each employee to leave in a better position than when they started.
